No, if an employer has to report a release to CSB (“any accidental release resulting in a fatality, serious injury, or substantial property damage”) that also is reported to the NRC, they must report separately to the NRC and CSB. However, CSB reporting may be simplified if the employer contacts CSB within 30 minutes of the report to NRC. At that point, the employer can meet the requirement by simply providing the NRC identification number.
