The individual may drive for the carrier as long as the medical certificate is valid and the carrier can verify that the examiner is listed on the National Registry. If there aren’t any obvious disqualifying conditions, the carrier’s obligation is to have a valid proof of medical certification on file.
The driver is obligated to provide the same health information to each examiner, but carriers are not required to review the long forms.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) itself may review the forms and could disqualify the driver if dishonesty is confirmed or the driver otherwise has a disqualifying medical condition.
