There is generally no cost to the employee for using an EAP. The employer, however, can select a payment arrangement that best meets its budget.
An EAP provider may offer counseling services for emotional, marital, family, and financial issues, as well as substance abuse problems. Education services, training, and organizational assessments may also be offered. Services may be provided at the worksite or at the provider’s place of business.
Generally, the more comprehensive the services, the more the EAP provider will charge for them. Costs will vary depending on geographical area and type(s) of service provided.
