OSHA covers this in Appendix B to Subpart V of Part 1926 called, “Working on Exposed Energized Parts.” The tables in this Appendix can be used to establish the minimum approach distances for the conditions covered by the tables. There are quite a few of these tables in Appendix B, so careful review of each is necessary.
