Generally, the EAP provider will set up a 24-hour 800 number for employees and their families to call for consultation on almost any issue. The service is always confidential and staffed by professional counselors.

Consultation usually continues for a pre-set period of time. If the employee’s problem has not been resolved within the established period or if further assistance is recommended, professional referrals are provided for additional counseling or treatment.
