Evaluation of an operator’s performance can be determined by a number of ways, such as:

A discussion with employees.
An observation of the employee operating the powered industrial truck.
Written documentation of previous training.
A performance test.

All operator training and evaluation “shall be conducted by persons who have the knowledge, training, and experience to train powered industrial truck operators and evaluate their competence.”
