How do I become a member of NMFC?

To legally establish membership, the applicant must file a Power of Attorney with the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) and pay an annual fee, based upon the carrier’s total gross operating revenue for the previous calendar year.

For information about membership in the NMFC or to verify a carrier’s participation, call 1-800-539-5720. To purchase the NMFC, call 1-800-282-5463 for hard-copy, or 703-838-1837 for diskette or 9-track tape. Information is also available on the NMFTA website at http://www.nmfta.org/.

The National Motor Freight Classification book, tape or FastClass™ can also be ordered by calling SMC³ at 800-845-8090.
