New Jersey has adopted Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), including all amendments.
Part 395 applies to an intrastate vehicle with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight, gross combination weight rating, or registered weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle of any size transporting a placardable amount of hazardous materials.
| Driving Time | 12 hrs. Driving is not permitted if more than 8 hours have passed since the driver’s last off-duty or sleeper-berth period of at least 30 minutes. |
| On-Duty Time | 16 consecutive hrs. |
| Off-Duty Time | 10 consecutive hrs. |
| Weekly Limits | 70-hrs./7-days 80-hrs./8-days |
| Air-Mile Radius Exemption | Same as federal |
