Maine has adopted Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), as amended.
Part 395 applies to a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle transporting hazardous materials which require placarding
Exception: Intrastate motor carriers operating less than 100 air miles from their place of business, and not hauling hazardous materials requiring placarding, are exempt from Part 395.
Electronic logging device (ELD)
Maine has adopted the electronic logging device (ELD) requirements in Part 395 for intrastate motor carriers and drivers.
