Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Alaska law has the same provisions for portability, preexisting conditions, discrimination, and creditable coverage that federal HIPAA has. Alaska does have a couple of differences, as called out below.

Preexisting condition exclusions do not apply if an individual’s most recent period of creditable coverage ended on a date more than 90 days before the enrollment date.
