Wisconsin (EPA Region 5) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) implements the hazardous waste program under RCRA, including the base program and the corrective action/cleanup program. The DNR areas of authority include regulatory oversight, permitting and compliance, inspections and monitoring, and enforcement actions (including corrective actions).
