Hazardous waste cleanup programs - Texas
Texas (EPA Region 6) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is the primary agency responsible for hazardous waste management and cleanup in the state. TCEQ administers the cleanup of sites contaminated by hazardous waste through its Industrial and Hazardous Waste Corrective Action Program. The agency is also responsible for hazardous waste permitting and other regulatory enforcement.
