South Dakota (EPA Region 8) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) Hazardous Waste Section implements the RCRA program in the state, handling corrective action oversight; permitting; inspections and investigations; generator oversight; regulation of treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs); and more.
