Hazardous waste cleanup programs - Oregon
Oregon (EPA Region 10) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers this program statewide, managing permitting, compliance enforcement, and regulatory oversight of hazardous waste facilities. The DEQ conducts site investigations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies, and it manages cleanup activities. The agency also issues state permits and monitors facilities to ensure ongoing compliance with hazardous waste regulations.
