Hazardous waste cleanup programs - North Dakota
North Dakota (EPA Region 8) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers this program and has primary enforcement responsibility for violations. In addition to running corrective action/cleanup programs, the DEQ issues permits; enforces generator and treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs); handles manifests; and manages other related activities.
