Hazardous waste cleanup programs - New Hampshire
New Hampshire (EPA Region 1) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) has primary enforcement and regulatory authority over hazardous waste activities in the state. NHDES is responsible for permitting hazardous waste facilities, carrying out corrective actions (cleanups), conducting inspections, ensuring compliance, and more.
