Michigan (EPA Region 5) is fully authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has the primary authority to enforce hazardous waste regulations in the state. EGLE issues permits, conducts inspections, and grants licenses to treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs).
