Alaska (EPA Region 10) is not authorized to implement its own Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program.
As of 2025, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has developed a Hazardous Waste Program, has adopted state regulations, and is preparing to submit a final authorization application to EPA. Meanwhile, EPA remains the primary authority for hazardous waste cleanup programs in Alaska.
