Interstate carriers, for-hire and private, must register their operations in Oregon and obtain an Oregon DOT plate or temporary pass or marker (includes weight-mile) for each vehicle that operates in the state.
Authority authorization is required for all units.
Mileage is required for all fuels, vehicles over 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.
Carriers who are registered but without the Oregon DOT plate for a particular vehicle must obtain a temporary pass not to exceed 10 days at MCTD field offices.
Carriers entering Oregon after hours or on weekends must have credentials prior to entering the state.
For basic Oregon credentials service at night and on weekends, call the Salem Service Center at the Motor Carrier Transportation Division for assistance.
Drivers arriving after hours/on weekends without credentials in their possession will be subject to citation and a $295 fine.
