Non-IFTA carriers are required to obtain fuel permits before entering the state. However, in lieu of obtaining an annual license and fuel cab card, a carrier (from a non-IFTA jurisdiction) may obtain a temporary motor fuel permit at Motor Carrier Inspection Stations or the Kansas Trucking Connection.
Motor fuel permits may be purchased in 24-hour or 72-hour increments. Up to three temporary motor fuel trip permits may be purchased, in any combination, per commercial motor vehicle identification number (VIN) at any one time.
Fees
24-Hour Temporary Motor Fuel Permit — $13
72-Hour Temporary Motor Fuel Permit — $25
