Intrastate
Intrastate common carriers transporting regulated commodities must file insurance verification with a Form E.
Intrastate household goods and passenger carriers must also obtain PSC plates from the Commission. The Commission will issue plates to carriers who have complied with all provisions and regulations of the Commission, and who have completed and filed copies of the forms furnished by the Commission in duplicate to provide a detailed description for each unit for which a PSC plate is required. The plate shall be attached on power units on any portion of the front part, preferably to the regular vehicle license so it can be read easily from the front. On straight trucks and vehicles with no more than two axles, the plate should be placed on the front or rear so it is easily legible.
Household goods and passenger applications are to be made to the Nebraska Public Service Commission with an intrastate filing fee of $200. An annual fee of $120 per tractor or truck-trailer combination or $50 per straight truck is required. If fleet is prorated, the per vehicle fee is subject to proration.
Insurance: Intrastate requirements are combined single limit of liability coverage ranging from $500,000 to $5,000,000, depending on the commodity being transported — Form E filing required. Common carriers require cargo insurance of $5,000 required with a filing on Form H.
