Intrastate
Carriers operating intrastate with commercial vehicles of any weight must obtain an authority receipt from the MDOT, submit a one-time registration fee of $50, and pay a per unit fee of $10. The registration form must be completed and signed, and the proper insurance filing must be sent to the MDOT by the insurance company.
Insurance: Operating intrastate must have $750,000 CSL. Cargo insurance required operating intrastate, in the following amounts: $5,000 for vehicles weighing 3 tons or less, $10,000 for vehicles weighing over 3 tons. A Form E Certificate of Insurance must also be filed. Form H required for intrastate common carriers.

Interstate
Mississippi is a participating member of the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCRA). Online registration and fee payment is recommended and available to all carriers at the national UCRA website at www.ucr.in.gov.
