There are no requirements for intrastate for-hire carriers operating in Maine to obtain operating authority.

Interstate

Maine is a participating member of the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCRA). Online registration and fee payment is recommended and available to all carriers at the national UCRA website at ucr.gov.

Note: Non-Hazardous Transporter Program — Transporters of non-hazardous waste are required to obtain a license from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
