Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Employers are not required by federal law to give former employees their final paycheck immediately. Some states, however, may require immediate payment or payment within a specific time period.
Nevada Revised Statute §608.030 requires that for involuntary termination the final paycheck is due immediately.
For voluntary termination the final paycheck is due on the next regular payday or within seven days, whichever is sooner. (NRS §608.020.)
