The state of Washington has adopted most OSHA standards by reference. DOSH, however, has included minor additions or variations to their eyewash station and safety shower requirements including:
- An eyewash station or emergency shower must be provided when there is potential for major portions of an employee's body to contact corrosives, strong irritants, or toxic chemicals.
- Equipment must provide the quality and quantity of water that is satisfactory for emergency washing purposes (in addition to 0.4 gal for eyewashes and 20 gal for showers).
