California has adopted many federal OSHA standards and incorporates them by reference. The Cal/OSHA has a few minor variations for eyewash stations and safety showers including:

An emergency shower must be provided at all work areas where, during routine operations or foreseeable emergencies, an area of the body may come into contact with a substance which is corrosive or severely irritating to the skin or which is toxic by skin absorption.
If both an eyewash and a shower are needed, they must be located in a way that both can be used at the same time by one person.
