Intrastate

Intrastate carriers must obtain an insurance receipt, renewable annually, at $10 per unit. They must also pay the $25 annual filing fee to renew their certificate by December 31. For-hire carriers must pay a $10 per vehicle identification fee. Compliance with fuel tax regulations is also required.

Interstate

Kentucky is a participating member of the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCRA). Online registration and fee payment is recommended and available to all carriers at the national UCRA website at www.ucr.in.gov.
