Intrastate

Intrastate carriers hauling exempt commodities in Idaho do not have to register operating authority with the Transportation Department nor obtain an operating permit.

Insurance: All carriers must carry proof of current insurance in the vehicle. For-hire carriers must have Form E on file with the Transportation Department.

Interstate

Idaho is a participating member of the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCRA). Online registration and fee payment is recommended and available to all carriers at the national UCRA website at https://www.ucr.gov/.
