Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
Employer defined
"Employer" includes any person acting directly or indirectly in the interest of an employer in relation to an employee.
Unlawful employment practices
The unlawful employment practices and exemptions are similar to those under the federal Equal Pay Act. The state law is very concise, and like the federal law, includes provisions for differentials under established seniority systems or merit increase systems which do not discriminate on the basis of sex.
