Vermont does not have a state law that requires private-sector employers to reimburse employee expenses.
State employees are entitled by law to be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred (such as mileage, meals, and lodging) during approved state business travel. In some cases, the amount allowed for reimbursement of certain expenses is determined by collective bargaining agreements. State employees who work from home must be reimbursed for expenses “in the same manner as though he or she were working out of an office.”
