Missouri has no state-specific PFAS drinking water requirements. While Missouri laws and regulations don’t explicitly state that Missouri follows EPA’s MCLs, rules are developed to align with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act as amended.
Since 2013, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) has performed PFAS occurrence monitoring projects for public drinking water supplies through federal and voluntary sampling programs. To date, these sampling efforts represent public water supplies that serve more than 76 percent of Missouri’s population.
