Maine has a state-specific interim Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for six PFAS: PFOA, PFOS, PFHpA, PFHxS, PFNA, and PFDA.

PFOA (alone or in combination with the other PFAS): 20 parts per trillion (ppt) 
PFOS (alone or in combination with the other PFAS): 20 ppt

The state has rulemaking in progress to add the following federal MCLs to the Code of Maine Rules. 

PFOA: 4 ppt 
PFOS: 4 ppt
