Vermont has adopted 390.21 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) for intrastate carriers.*

Section 390.21 applies to vehicles operating intrastate with a gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds or transporting hazardous materials requiring placarding.

*Vermont has adopted the USDOT marking regulations in 390.21 for intrastate CMVs. However, the state is not currently enforcing this regulation. Check with the state regarding any changes in this enforcement policy.
