Oklahoma has adopted 390.21 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).
Section 390.21 applies to intrastate drivers of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating, or a gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or transporting hazardous materials requiring the vehicle to be placarded.
All commercial vehicles operating solely in intrastate transportation must display their USDOT number followed by “OK” on all vehicles.

Additional Requirements | A vehicle > 8,000 lbs. combined laden weight used primarily for business or commercial purposes must have the name of the commercial establishment or the words “Commercial Vehicle” permanently and prominently displayed on the outside of the vehicle in letters not less than two inches high. The letters must be in sharp contrast to the vehicle’s background and must be of sufficient shape and color to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of 50 feet while the vehicle is not in motion. |
