| Additional Requirements | The marking must be on both sides of the vehicles in letters/numbers not less than three inches high. The marking may be printed on the vehicle, or on placards fastened on both sides of the vehicle. In case of a tractor-trailer unit, the marking must be on the tractor. Motor vehicles subject to regulation by the North Carolina Utilities Commission must also be marked as required by the Commission by displaying the home address and authority number issued by the Commission. Intrastate only vehicles equipped to tow or transport another motor vehicle, and hired to tow or transport another vehicle, must have the name and address of the registered owner of the vehicle, and the name of the business or person being hired if different, displayed on each side of the vehicle in letters/numbers not less than three inches high. |
