Yes. The driver needs to take a vision test at the motor vehicle department and have the corrective lenses restriction removed from the license. This is important because if the driver’s license or medical card states that corrective lenses are required during a roadside inspection or traffic stop, the officer will ask the driver to provide proof of corrective lenses. If the driver does not have glasses or contacts in place, but the driver’s license or medical card still lists them as required, the driver could be placed out of service.
