Yes. The term �pre-employment� used for this DOT test type may be a bit misleading. The test applies to more than just new hires who will be on the company�s payroll. Anyone who will be utilized in a CDL capacity (which makes the job a safety-sensitive position) is subject to pre-employment testing. Examples include leased drivers and existing drivers transferring into or returning to a safety-sensitive position.
