The American National Standards Institute and the Scaffold & Access Industry Association released these two standards.
They cover various types of personal lifts including scissor lifts and aerial lifts. However, vehicle-mounted elevating and rotating aerial devices are not covered. An example of this is a utility truck that has an aerial lift mounted on them. These are not covered under the standards. Also, they do not pertain to order picker forklifts.
These are not OSHA standards and they haven’t been adopted by OSHA. Therefore, they are considered industry best practices.
