All persons who generate, transport, recycle, treat, store, or dispose of hazardous waste must notify EPA of their hazardous waste activities.

Regulated entities can obtain EPA ID numbers by filing EPA Form 8700-12, Notification of Regulated Waste Activity, with the appropriate EPA Regional or authorized state RCRA office (40 CFR 262.12, 263.11, and 264.11).The notification forms are available from state or Regional offices, or via the Internet at http://www.epa.gov/epawaste/index.htm.
