No. There is no requirement for annual or other regularly-scheduled training.
Employees need to have their initial training when they are first assigned to permit-space entry duties.
After that, they need training under certain conditions:
- Before their assigned duties are changed,
- When there is a change in entry operations that presents new hazards, and
- Whenever the employer determines that they are not correctly following the procedures.
Best practice: It is best practice to conduct refresher training, including hazard review, every 1-2 years to ensure employee comprehension.
