Direct deposit provisions - Wisconsin
Wisconsin labor standard laws do not directly address direct deposit of wages, which means the state basically follows federal law. The Dept. of Workforce Development advises that employers in Wisconsin (private and public) may mandate direct deposit of wages, provided employees can collect wages at a bank or facility in the state and there are no fees charged to receive wages. State employees are required to receive pay via direct deposit, with limited exceptions permitted.
