Direct deposit provisions - Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, private employers may not mandate direct deposit for payroll. Direct deposit and other forms of electronic transfer (such as payroll cards) are permitted with employee consent.
State employees of agencies, departments, offices, boards, commissions, and councils under the Governor’s jurisdiction are required to participate in the state direct deposit program. Limited exceptions may be granted by the Office of Employee Relations and Workforce Support.
