Private employers in Oklahoma can require direct deposit of wages as a condition of employment. If an employee does not consent to direct deposit, or does not designate an appropriate financial institution, employers may alternatively pay wages via a payroll card account.

State employees are required to participate in the state’s direct deposit payroll system.
