According to North Dakota law, employers (public and private) may mandate the payment of wages via direct deposit as long as the employee is allowed to choose the financial institution where the wages are deposited. Employers may also offer payment via payroll cards, but only if the employee agrees and the card meets specific federal insurance and funding requirements.
