In the private sector, Arizona law requires an employee’s consent before an employer may pay wages by direct deposit. If the employee does not consent or does not designate a financial institution, the employer may use a payroll-card account as an electronic alternative, but direct deposit itself requires the employee’s authorization.
For state employees, direct deposit is required.
