Federal regulations
Wyoming has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Regulations.
Applicability
Part 393 applies to vehicles operating intrastate with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or transporting hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placarding.
First aid kits
No requirements.
Studded tires
No tire may have any protuberance of any material, other than rubber, which projects beyond the tread of the traction surface of the tire.
Tire chains
Tire chains of reasonable proportions are allowed when required for safety because of snow, ice, or other conditions tending to cause a vehicle to skid.
When the chain law is in effect due to snow, ice, or other conditions, travel on a highway may be restricted to use only by motor vehicles utilizing adequate snow tires or tire chains, vehicles that are all wheel drive vehicles, or necessary emergency vehicles, including snow plows. Signs posted along the roadway indicate when the prohibition or restriction of use is in effect.
