Overview
The operations of motor carriers are under the jurisdiction of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. North Dakota has adopted, by reference, Parts 382, 385 Subparts A, B, C, D, and E, 386 Subparts F and G, 387, 390, 391, 392, 393, 395, 396 and 397 (and amendments as they occur) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. This adoption was effective January 1, 2022.
Applicability
The adopted regulations apply to intrastate commercial motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight, and gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials requiring a placard.
