Missouri has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Regulations.
Part 393 applies to commercial motor vehicles operated in intrastate commerce which have a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, or vehicles transporting hazardous materials.
No requirements.
Trucks, semitrailers, and trailers (except utility trailers) without rear fenders, attached to a commercial motor vehicle registered for over 24,000 pounds must be equipped with mudflaps when operated on public highways. Mudflaps must be wide enough to cover the full tread width of the tires. Mudflaps must be installed so that they extend from the underside of the vehicle body in a vertical plane behind the wheels within eight inches of the ground. They must be sufficiently rigid to provide adequate protection when the vehicle is in motion.
Studded tires are authorized from November 1 to April 1.
