Federal regulations

Maine has adopted Part 395 of the Federal Regulations.

Applicability

Part 395 applies to a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle transporting hazardous materials which require placarding.

Exception — Intrastate motor carriers operating less than 100 air miles from their place of business, and not hauling hazardous materials requiring placarding, are exempt from Part 395.
