The District of Columbia requires private employers to reimburse employees for the cost of purchasing and maintaining the necessary tools related to their scope of employment. This can include internet and cell phone costs for employees who work from home.
State employees in the district are eligible for reimbursement of training and travel expenses as long as the expenses are approved and proper documentation is submitted.
